I am a developer with over five years professional experience. I spend most of my day fascinated by and implementing the newest trends in web development and social media and I primarily work in the PHP and JavaScript languages - though I’m happy to use whatever will get the job done. Prior to switching to software development I had a background as a psychiatric nurse, a role in which I worked for more than 18 years.

    Work across teams with the Senor User Interface Designer to enable a rich and simple user experience for our users.

    • Working on a HTML5 mobile-based proof of concept for the Matilda System using Semantic UI and Twig. Implementing it as a mobile application using Firebase and AngularJS

    A move away from the public sector whilst still working for the public sector.

    • Serving as a designer and developer of DataTAP, an award winning platform for the publication of open data for the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
    • Leading the development of Shimme, an innovative platform for communicating about psychiatric medication management for Anglia Ruskin University and Cambridge and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust built upon the WordPress CMS.
    • Developing and designing key parts of the LGInform prototype, the Local Government Associations innovative platform for Council performance management and benchmarking.
    • Working on the front facing aspects of the arcus.social Children's Centres Software.
    • Creating Janet, a PHP-based portal for academics to manage their AWS credentials and spending.
    • Creating a number of nodejs applications for members of the public or professionals to report concerns to a London Borough which used SalesForce as a backend.

    Replaced their archaic database with a web application to aid their organisation of teaching, training and fundraising.

    • Negotiated with Stormpath to get a not-for-profit price for accessing their User Management API - implementation was a breeze!

    • 2014 - Rachael Duthie: Website for Rachael Duthie, a Sexual Health and Drugs Specialist Trainer.
    • 2013 - K9way: Used YQL to parse a facebook feed and display the results with JsRender for this refresh of Dogrehab.
    • 2011 - CentreComms: Developed an innovative and money saving approach to emergency communications within the high-pressure environment of shopping centre management.
    • 2010 - ACR Partners: Redesigned this site for these specialists in commercial property recruitment.
    • 2009 - DogRehab: Website for Justyn Hudson who is a Dog Psychologist.
    • 2009 - Barnwell Driving School: Website for Mark Crisp.
    • 2008 - Da Cunha Dressage: Profile website for Jo Lee who teaches and trains people on their horses.
    • 2008 - CamSticks Co: The pattern was designed in the SVG format - it is based on 2 different glyphs which are transformed in order to create a seamless piece of knotwork.
    • 2008 - CambsTREC: simple site for a friend.
    • 2007 - Indigo Design Architects: updated site using more traditional approaches and a fluid layout and incorporating SEO techniques.
    • 2005 - Indigo Design Architects: Initially working as a consultant I designed this dynamic single page site for Indigo Architects.
